A Wrap-Up of the Growing Sausalito Boat Show
It’s been a couple of busy weeks since the Sausalito Boat Show rocked the Marin waterfront with a sensational, celebratory show highlighting the best of boating on the Bay. Now in its fourth year, the show has matured into a robust gathering of exhibitors that includes gear and equipment from folks like Hood Sails, South Beach Riggers, Llewellyn Marine, marinas from Mexico, Jeanneau sailboats from the Bay Area’s new dealer Marine Servicenter, and new Beneteaus and an Excess catamaran from Naos Yachts. There were also lots of powerboats and some classic “woodies,” the schooner Seaward and model sailboat racing.

It’s hard to rustle up sailboats for shows these days, as fewer boats are in stock and available, but it’s still great to gather with other sailors and see what boats are on the Bay. Lots of sailors visited the Latitude 38 booth to share a story, pick up a magazine, or get the latest on the 2026 Baja Ha-Ha. The weather was ideal for everyone who wanted to spend time browsing the docks and tents or learn new skills with the seminars.

We caught up with Raffa Alcantara of Marina Riviera Nayarit and John Schulthess of Marina Puerto de la Navidad, who let us know that there are more slips available in Mexico this year. The last few years have seen slip prices rise alongside demand, but that trend appears to be softening. This should make it easier for southbound cruisers to find a place to land.

The show keeps growing and getting better every year. It’s been a long haul rebuilding shows and events post-COVID, but the energy and location of the Sausalito show are a great foundation for future gatherings of sailors. We hope to see more sailboats make their way to the Bay Area and line up for display as the show continues to grow.
See you at next year’s Sausalito Boat Show!
