It’s Show Time — Sausalito Boat Show Opens Today

The fourth annual Sausalito Boat Show opened today, with the official ribbon cutting at the main entrance at 10:30. And at 11:30, the Mayor’s Cup Model Boat Regatta was raced at The Point.

There’s plenty happening throughout the day at the show.

The Svendsen’s Bay Marine Education Tent will be a hive of activity with an International Ocean Film Festival screening at 1 p.m., followed by the Electric Boating Panel at 3 p.m., and at 5 p.m. the Marine Mammal Center will host “Tales of Urban Whales.” (IOFF films include include Juan Fernández UNOC Announcement by Andy Mann, Bottle Cap by Marie Hyon and Marco Spier, Sequoias of the Sea by Natasha Benjamin and Ana Blanco, The Granny Grommets by Leah Rustomjee, My Journey Across the Ocean by Madeleine Kelly Toomey, and Seagrass for Sea Change by Whitney Beer-Kerr.)

There’s a lot more happening throughout day — check out the Electric Boating Experience from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. and BAE Boats in the New Yacht Gallery, visit the PICYA Clubhouse aboard Ciamar, explore the marine exhibitors, technology, art and artisans, and of course, there’s a harbor full of boats to explore.

Remember to head over to Basin 1 for Helmut Marine’s Waves of Opportunity Happy Hour from 6-8 p.m. The evening is created to raise funds for getting kids from the San Rafael Canal community out on the water, support the charter captains who make it possible, and bring the waterfront together for an evening that does some good.
