Boat Domino Effect in the Eastern Med

A lot of fine boats in a disposition they shouldn’t be in. Dirt hardstand that is not that hard could be one of the problems.

“I don’t think Deb and I realized how lucky we were yesterday when a big blow came through Lávrion, Greece, where we have Morpheus on the hard,” writes Jim Gregory of Point Richmond. “I took these photos at the dry-storage yard a half-mile away from where Morpheus is. We fly home tonight.”

That it’s cold and wet in Greece in late October is not to be unexpected, but boats on the ground are uncalled-for.

If we’re not mistaken, this was the Gregorys’ third summer in the Med.

The Gregorys’ Schumacher 50 Morpheus continued to stand tall. The boat was built in New Zealand, and the Gregorys have sailed her across the Pacific, to Mexico and Hawaii numerous times, to the Caribbean, and most recently across the Atlantic to and around the Med.
