“No, I thought you paid the lock keeper!”

    “Damn Daylight Savings again!”
My first guess is could be going from sea to lock, tho could be lock to lock. Not anywhere I recognize in Bering Sea w 25’ tides. An inch a minute sometimes!
One friend took the mast off his Hunter 42 in Marseille, and has done over 1,000 locks so far. Currently in Holland.

“Wait, this is not a ‘flat earth’ simulator” Jack said, drunkenly. He then realized that he had just forgoten to pay the lock keeper.

Danny’s first day as a Lock Operator was also his last. He snoozed through the section on CLOSING THE GATES.

As with many marine creatures, some boats are driven by an irresistible primal urge to return to their birthplace to spawn.

Locking Rule #1: Make sure there is enough water under your keel at low level.

You asked if someone could tell you how they got out of this mess. I would say: with patience! This is a location with very high tidal differences. The tide will come back up. And what happened in the first place? My guess: The lock didn’t close for some reason. And bad line handling let the sailors go with the flow until they got stuck – lucky, just in time!

Activate the keel retraction winch….too late!
