LongPac’ers Get Hammered

Twenty-seven boats started the Singlehanded Sailing Society’s LongPac Wednesday and, as of this morning, only four boats were still racing — all of them singlehanded entries. Bob Johnston’s J/92 Ragtime! was the first to touch 126° 40’W, and is 170 miles away from the Bay after a blistering outbound leg. More »

Coastal Cup Gets Breeze

For the 16 boats in the Encinal YC’s Coastal Cup, it hasn’t taken long to get down the coast. The first of Wednesday’s starters to reach the finish off the West End of Catalina Island, Steve Stroub’s Tiburon-based SC 37 Tiburon, finished at 6:11 this morning in 10-12 knots of breeze, only 45 hours after starting.
