On April 4, the French-flagged 47-ft Colin Archer-designed Tanit, bound for Kenya and 500 miles off the Somali coast, was seized by Somali pirates who took the yacht’s five passengers — two couples and a three-year-old boy — hostage. More »

Missing Sailor Found
San Francisco sailor Sean Haggerty, 39, was reported missing last week after he failed to arrive in San Diego on time. The unemployed Haggerty reportedly left the Bay a few weeks ago aboard his Ranger 26 Sea Hag to gunkhole his way down the coast to San Diego, where he had lined up a job. More »
