July 24 – Montserrat

Most of us are fascinated by rare natural
phenomenon such as active volcanoes, and it’s a great experience
to sail near one. In the case of Montserrat, gliding beneath
the ashen smoke of 3,000-ft Chance Peak is an eerie reminder
of the awesome power of nature. It erupted catastrophically in
1997, displacing two-thirds of the island’s inhabitants. Today,
Montserrat’s capital city of Plymouth is reminiscent of a post-apocalyptic
sci-fi movie.

The folks over at the Ha-Ha report that they’ve filled requests
