Latitude 38 Sales Manager
Latitude 38 is seeking an ambitious, creative, adventurous advertising sales professional to join our sales team.
This is a key role, tailor-made for a sailing enthusiast who’s strong with relationship selling. While the position is remote, the right candidate must live in the San Francisco Bay Area and be an engaged member of the local sailing community. Duties include actively selling and servicing current advertisers while also prospecting and acquiring new advertisers for our multi-channel media platform including our monthly and specialty publications, website, email newsletters, events, and podcast.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in sales, enthusiasm, creativity, and knowledge to help our customers in the dynamic advertising market. You are detail and team-oriented with excellent time management skills and follow-up. Ability to work within deadlines is essential. You are up to speed on the world of digital/print/publishing while continuing to learn and grow.
Latitude 38 has been serving West Coast sailors since 1977, in both print and online. The ideal candidate is excited about integrated print + digital advertising and is comfortable with the operational side of media sales, including CRM/database management, campaign tracking, coordination with production, and ad fulfillment.
A passion for sailing is a must, and marine industry experience is a plus. We’re looking for someone who will continue to support our advertisers’ success and help strengthen the West Coast sailing community.

Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and grow relationships with current advertisers.
- Prospect for new advertisers through outreach, referrals, and research.
- Manage a sales database/CRM daily: pipeline, notes, tasks, and follow-ups.
- Qualify and respond to inbound leads and inquiries.
- Develop and present integrated print + digital proposals and campaigns.
- Collaborate with the production/editorial team to coordinate ad specs, deadlines, and fulfillment.
- Provide regular sales activity and pipeline reporting (e.g., dial log, status updates).
- Participate in and support the Bay Area/West Coast sailing community (events, regattas, industry connections).
- Track campaign performance and fulfillment details as needed (especially digital).
Skills and Experience:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1–2+ years of successful B2B sales experience (media/marketing a plus).
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through; comfort with proactive outreach.
- Working knowledge of branding, ad creative, and campaign concepts.
- Proficiency with common business tools (Microsoft Office/Google Workspace). Experience with FileMaker, WordPress, Slack, and Adobe/creative tools is a plus.

Latitude 38 is seeking an Ambassador. The ideal candidate is based in the SF Bay Area, is friendly, outgoing, well-organized and a self-starter with excellent communication skills. They are someone who can work independently as well as manage a team of volunteers. An ambassador encourages enthusiasm, understands the scope and goal of a project and is able to appreciate, respect and organize a team of volunteers to execute a project with efficiency and eagerness. This is an ideal position for someone who is financially secure and looking to stay active and social, and is excited to be part of our vibrant sailing community. This is a volunteer position, but a stipend will be offered.
